Terms and Conditions

A synopsis

 

If you require a logo you will have an initial in depth consultation with me. Following this I will produce three logo designs based on our discussion. There will be two stages of change to develop the logo until you are happy and opportunities for further consultations. Any further stages of change will be charged at the rate of £20 per hour. You will receive the final logo on disc which will be in JPEG, GIF (if appropriate) and PDF formats. I will also include an explanation of these file types. You will own the copyright of the final design.


If you require any other design work you will have an initial in depth consultation with me. We can also discuss printing, finishing and delivery to suit your needs and budget. I will then draw up a quote/estimate and then will take a payment of 50% of the quoted price. This can be paid in cash to me, paid into my bank account or paid with a cheque. A receipt will be provided. Following this I will produce a design/s based on our discussion. There will be two stages of change to develop the artwork until you are happy and opportunities for further consultations. Any further stages of change will be charged at the rate of £20 per hour. You will receive the final artwork on disc in the form of a high quality PDF and other formats where appropriate. Final print work will be delivered to you and I will them take the remaining balance.

 

Meeting One


Our first meeting will be agreed between ourselves, will take place at a neutral venue (or over the telephone or via e-mail) and will last 45 minutes to one hour. During this in-depth meeting we will discuss your design needs and go through a prepared questionnaire which will help to establish your target market, the look and feel of your business and what you are hoping to achieve through working with Shout Out Graphics. We will also discuss the printing and finishing process, timescale, budget constraints and delivery of the final products. Please note that any images that are not owned by yourself or your company or myself cannot be used unless they have been bought. The same rule applies to typefaces/fonts. If you need a specific image or typeface/font then I will notify you of the charges at this stage. I will always ask for your permission before using anything that will incur an extra cost to you. I will draw up a quote and give an estimated charge. Upon receiving a payment of 50% I will then go away and produce some designs based on our meeting. I can not proceed with further work until the initial payment has cleared.

 

Meeting Two


Here I will show you the work I have done. We will discuss your feelings regarding the artwork and decide on adjustments to be made to it. The aim is to get a clearer idea of the final design. We will also discuss printing, finishing and delivery again if this is required. We can go through any other questions that you might have.

 

The Next Stages

  • The next stages will take place via email. I will adjust the artwork according to the decisions made at our second meeting and present the work to you again.
  • I will allow one more stage of change. If further changes are needed after this then I will charge further work at a rate of £20 per hour. Please note the emails that I send will be watermarked or of low quality so the designs will unusable at this stage. This is to prevent my work from being used without payment.
  • After all adjustments I will send you the final draft via e-mail and on your say so will send the documents off to be proofed by the printer if printing is required.
  • Depending on which printer is used (this will depend on quantity, finish and budget) you will receive a digital proof or physical proof. If the proof is physical you can collect it or can be posted to you at no extra cost.
  • On viewing the proof you must notify me that you are 100% happy with the design and the content. The proof you view must be signed by you to indicate this. You must also read thoroughly through written detail (such as address, phone number etc) that you have supplied and notify me of any corrections. If the documents go to print with such mistakes and they have not been identified by yourself then I cannot be held responsible. You will still have to pay all charges.
  • Even if printing is not required you will still need to look over the finished work thoroughly and adhere to the guidelines above.
  • Once the proof is approved either the full print run will go ahead or the document will be prepared and saved in the appropriate format depending on usage.
  • You will be notified when the print run is complete and you can pick up your printed goods or they will be delivered to you (this will be at an additional cost set by the printer).
  • The remaining balance will then be paid.
  • When the payment has cleared I will post you the finished artwork on CD along with any images purchased. Logos will be provided in JPEG, GIF (if appropriate) and PDF formats. All other work will be provided as a high quality PDF or in other formats as required.
